ONIS is dedicated to provide the medical community with products and services of the highest quality and standards, committed to improving their ability to treat the patients with the most advanced technologies available.
ONIS was founded in 1976 by Leon Soriano, who brought to Belgium the very first Fujinon (now Fujifilm) Endoscope delivered to a hospital outside of Japan. Over the years, the company succeeded in attracting other distribution rights in this field. It has contributed significantly to the development of endoscopy working with manufacturers in the development, evaluation and introduction of major new modalities and products such as endoscopic laser coagulation, large channel duodenoscopes, air and water tight endoscopes, medium size colonoscopes, video endoscopy, large field of view endoscopy. In 1996, ONIS entered the sphere of endoscope reprocessing with the representation of SOLUSCOPE washing and cleaning automates. ONIS became a major player in this field, adding drying cabinets, transportation and integrated traceability solutions to its portfolio.
ONIS reached its leading position in particular due to the unparalleled dedication of a technical department which relies on the expertise of its highly trained and experienced staff. In 2016, the company addressed the problem of biofilm-linked contamination by becoming the distributor of OneLIFE, a Belgium-based company that provides detection and in-depth cleaning solutions where standard chemicals fail. Its integration late 2017 in the DUOMED group will enable ONIS to further complement its portfolio with innovative, affordable and cutting-edge products.
